“Crémant d’Alsace”

Region : Alsace, Bas-Rhin, Woxlheim village. At the foot of the Horn rock, the Altenberg is at the heart of the Wolxheim vineyard: 31,20 hectares remarkably exposed and benefit from an ideal microclimate, very dry, at an altitude of 200 to 250 m.

Vin de garde and gastronomy par excellence, with a tasty and generous character, the Altenberg of Wolxheim develop over the years a powerful and harmonious body and fine aromas due to the marnocalcareous soils.

Features : 12 % alcohol, contains sulfites.

Cultural method : Permanent weeding of vines, no chemical or residual herbicides, biological pest control, reasoned interventions against diseases copper and sulfur-based. Reinforcement own defenses of the vine, additions of natural trace elements on foliage.

Winemaking : Elaborated according to the traditional method, with second fermentation, called “Prise de mousse”, in bottles. Resting in bottles for several months, on the fine lies. the liqueur added during disgorgement and before the final bottling, is minimum.

The Colour : Pale yellow

The Smell : Fruity nose of citrus fruits and white fruits with a small floral note.

The Taste : Fine mousse, beautiful harmony, fruity with subtle nuances of apple and dried fruit, rich in the mouth (citrus, hawthorn, almond …), very harmonious.

Serving Suggestions : Aperitif. Accompaniment of crustaceans, fish slightly smoked or in puff pastry, cold white meats.

To be served beetween 4 and 6°C.
