Region : In the Loire Valley, Chenin is king. In Savennières, this grape reveals all of its potential. In this growing zone of Anjou-Saumur there is a unique terroir composed of shale, shale sandstone, rhyolite and aeolian sands. The vines in Savennières have been present since Roman times, they were developed by the abbeys and by the lords of the region. The vines grow on the hillsides situated on the right bank of the Loire, the scenery here is magnificent. Only white wine is allowed for this appelation. The wine is dry but during very good years, sweet white wines can be produced, but they are very rare.

Cultural method : The vineyards are worked without herbicides or insectisides. According to the plots, every second row of vine ranks is covered with grass. The grapes are very ripe when harvested. Manual sorting is done from October to November.

Winemaking : Pneumatique pressing and settling at low temperatures. Alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature of 12-13 °C for 48 hours. Aged in stainless steel tanks for 9 months on its fine lees.

Bottled at the estate.

The Colour : Bright pale yellow with golden reflections.

The Smell : Intense with notes of honey, apricot, white peach and lime.

The Taste : Round attack with vivacity, minerality and good persistence.

Serving Suggestions : Accompanies seafood, especially fish with sauce, white meat, warm goat cheese.

Serve at 10-12 °C

Aging Capacity :

10 to 15 years.
