Tokaji Isten-hegy Furmint 2015

Region : The vineyard of Tokaj is located in the north-east of Hungary, on the border of Ukraine. It is enclosed between 3 mountains and extends over 5,500 ha (of which 3,000 are planted). Generally, the subrock consists of volcanic tuff, and loess soil and clay on top.

The proximity of Tisza and Bodrog rivers creates a microclimate

favorable to the development of noble rot. The weather is

characterized by harsh winters, dry summers and long autumns, dry and sunny suitable for passerillage.

Since 1630, Tokaj’s production has been regulated. It is one of the first regions in the world to have benefited

an appellation of origin (1772).

Features : Contains sulfites. Sugar: 5,8 g/l, Sugar-free extract: 22 g/l. Alcohol: 12,5 %. Acidity: 7,3 g/l

Cultural method : n/a

Winemaking : Hand harvested and selected on the vineyard, whole cluster press. Fermented and aged for 8 months in oak barrels (300 and 500 liter 1-year used Hungarian oak).

Date of bottling: 26th of April 2017.

The Colour : Middle- gold colour with hints of green.

The Smell : Ripe peach, William’s pear, maize, lemongrass and minerality bouquets spiced with a light hint of smokiness.

The Taste : Full bodied wine. Pear, and salinity of rocks are all dominant on the palate. Holding fruitiness as much as minerality, this wine has a really long finish.

To be served at 11 to 13°C.
