Region : The Château de Passavant was built in the 12th Century by Foulques Nerra, powerful lord of the Middle Ages, Third Count of Anjou, and principle founder of this great province. Known for his wild character, his boldness in war and his brutal yet chivalrous nature, he was one of the most remarkable men of his time.

He fortified the all Anjou region with 27 castles and fortresses. One of these was the fortified “castle Passavant”, which constituted the southern line of his defense. This exceptional site looking over the Layon River was first known for its strategic and military importance, then developed a viticultural vocation through the ages.

Cultural method : The vines are grown organically, using modern methods that help produce top-quality grapes: short (“spur”) pruning, grass-growing between the rows of vines, cluster thinning, selective picking. Yields are controlled and kept low in order to favor quality. Organic culture certified since 2001.

Winemaking : Harvesting is done manually. A French outstanding sweet wine, a selection of botrytised rosé Grolleau Grey. Discover the whole potential of this unrecognized grape variety. This wine is done only during a few years.

The Colour : Rosé.

The Smell : A sweet aromatic rosé (Stawberry). This rare and unrecognized grape variety is highlighted in this wine.

The Taste : A fruity wine characteryzed by a stawberry taste. The sweetness is balanced with a perfect acidity.
